One Kiss Can Lead To Another: Girl Group Sounds, Lost and Found

If you dig 60's pop or soul in the least bit, you need to download buy this compilation. Released by Rhino Records in 2005, this 4 disc set comes packaged in a mini hat box and is chock full of songs sung by heartbroken women about being in love, abused, and shit on by the boys they love. Even though it sounds pathetic, and women's rights groups would probably call these ladies weak minded & feeble, I actually find it rather inspiring. Including The Fabulettes' version of the age-old 'look on the bright side' cliche, called "Try The Worryin' Way," which goes a little something like this:

"...when you think about his lips kissin' some other girl, the pounds will roll right off your hips you don't need no metro-cal..."

and so on and so forth. Other highlights include:

Carole King - He's A Bad Boy
The Exciters - He's Got the Power
Mally Page - Life and Soul of the Party
Nita Rossi - Untrue Unfaithful (That Was You)
Dee Dee Warwick - You're No Good

(Preview some of the tracks here, or on the album page at the rhino records website.)
