Does www.half.com really sell brand new, factory sealed items?
I have bought several DVD's and CD's from this sight all claiming to be brand new and factory sealed. They did come with the usual sealing and that annoying white sticker on the top with the name of the film or album on it. I just want to know if there is a way for the seller to fake this and it really is not a new item? I mean they all seemed new like when you buy them at a store, but I am just one of those people that question everything.
You'll know if it is brand new if you don't see even one scratch or dent. If it has the seal and the sticker from the store, with no scratch, you know it's the truth. Although, if a film is not brand new, it usually comes in bubble wrap, so that's another way you could tell. But, yes, most of the time it is brand new. Just look for these signs:
1) It is still sealed. If, in the description, it says the seal is removed, don't take the chance of buying it, because you don't know if it was actually used before
2) If it comes with the sticker from the store. That's how you can tell. Customers can't just remove the sticker on another product because then the sticker will be damaged. Who'll believe a product won't be used with a tore sticker?
3) If there are ZERO scratches and ZERO dents. If there is even the tiniest scratch, you know it's not "brand new".
But you do know, that if the product is not "brand new", you can report it. It's called false advertising and you can return the product. Although, you will need to show proof. Like for example, if there's a scratch or no factory seal. But I do suggest if you report and show them proof, to take pictures of your item while opening the mail packaging. That way they'll know you aren't lying.
