What is some great (or insane) avant garde jazz?
Right now I'm in love with Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, John Coltrane's A Love Supreme, and The Art Ensemble of Chicago. Can you recommend some insane avant garde jazz?

--The Shape of Jazz to Come--1959--Miles Davis was upset about the release of this album it took attention away from "Kind of Blue." Time proved nicer to Miles' album, but Coleman's work is still great. When I bought it from a used record dealer, he told me, "This will scare the neighbors." And it sure will. "Congeniality" grazes perfection.
Albert Ayler-
--"Spiritual Unity"
--"Love Cry"--Ayler was the self-proclaimed "Holy Ghost." He experimented with the sound of the tenor. His playing focused on expressing emotion through timbre and not harmony, or lack thereof.
Though it's not avant-garde, I also like to listen to Nat Adderley's "Work Song" to 'clean out my ears'
