I don't know if there's anyone in the world who knows detailed information about both Bach and the Killers, but your question caught my attention cause I like them both (OK maybe I just have a soft spot for a few of the Killers' songs; don't let anyone else in the classical forum catch me admitting that). I really don't know much about them, but I can tell you that Bach was the greatest composer of the Baroque Era. Baroque music is characterized by being polyphonic, or having multiple horizontal independant lines or voices which interact vertically to create harmony. His fugues and canons are great examples of what's called counterpoint, the technique of writing independant voices that mimic and respond to each other. Reportedly, he would improvise fugues for fun with other great musicians, and he often turned folk tunes into complex double- or tripple-fugues. See any description of 'The Art of Fugue' or the 'Musical Offering' for information on just how good he was at these things.
The Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 has two or three movements (the second, if you say there are three, is only one bar of cadence, probably intended to allow the performer a long improvisation between fast movements). The first is in Cut time, or 2/2, and the last is in 12/8.
