Good yet overlooked Violin Solos?
Hello, I'm looking for any overlooked yet great pieces that would both be fun yet challenging to play.
I have play for many years and have gone through most of the " standard repertoire" This includes Bach's six sonatas and partitas, vivaldi's seasons, beethovens romances, etc. I have also played some other pieces, such as the devils trill, Bach's concerto in A minor or Brahms Hungarian Dance no. 5. So if any one has any not so well known pieces that are still very nice, please let me know.
You might like to take a good look at the very fine Sonata in G (1892/3), written for Eugène Ysaÿe by Guillaume Lekeu, a Wallon composer of huge talent who died disastrously young, age 24, in 1894. One snag: you will need a seriously good pianist to partner you...
