Anyone know anything about Beethoven? German bloke, played the piano?
I thought I'd try some classical music, and I'm told he wrote a few decent tunes. I'm downloading nine symphonies by the Berlin Philharmonic, are they any good, or just some local band? Which one should I listen to first? Any advice appreciated, I'm trying to improve myself here....
Good question. Beethoven is phenomenal. The Berlin Philharmonic recordings of the nine symphonies are the only ones I've heard and are wonderful. Definately not a local band. I would recommend starting with Beethovens ninth (which if you've seen A Clockwork Orange you will recognize) and then try Beethovens fifth. Also, on a different note, you would would probably recognize The Moonlight Sonata which is a lovely piece. Hope this helps!
