Where are the best Black Metal related locations in Norway?
I'm planning a trip to Norway for my boyfriend's birthday next year, he is a huge black metal fan and has always wanted to go. The problem is that this is a suprise trip and not being a huge black metal fan myself I am at a bit of a loss of good locations to take him to!
We are going to be in Oslo for 3/4 days and traveling to Bergen for one day and one night. Please help!
I can't help much with Oslo, but maybe with Bergen. Is it venues for music that you're wanting? The actual scene can be a bit scary, although it seems to have died out a lot in the last decade or so.
There's the old record store in Oslo (called Helvete), which was sort of infamous in the Norwegian black metal scene. It's now a coffee shop, located at Schweigaards Gate 56.

The Inferno Festival (held in April also in Oslo) has a black metal sightseeing tour, but it's only available during the festival.

USF Verftet sometimes has Scandinavian metal concerts, and hosts Hole in the Sky (a big metal festival, although it's in August). You can keep an eye on the program list here:
