You mustn't worry about mainÂtainÂing your hijab, in times that you forÂget about it, the maxÂiÂmum penalty will be a request (usuÂally in a kind way) to make it correct.
There are some minÂiÂmum requireÂments for forÂeign women dress-code in pubÂlic places:
1. Colour: It's a comÂpletely false belief that women must wear dark clothes in Iran. There is no limÂiÂtaÂtion in this respect and we recÂomÂmend you choose light colours in summer.
2. Head: Hair should be covÂered. It doesn't mean you need to have a tight scarf around your head. Don't worry; It is very normal that some parts remain out of the cover. It's quite acceptÂable for women to allow whips of their hair to frame their face. ApproÂpriÂate hats & caps can do this funcÂtion as well as scarves. Scarf is the most comÂmon covÂerÂing for head and is called "Roosari" in Farsi.
3. Body: Should be covÂered with loose clothes like man shirt, coat or manÂteau. Arms should not be bare.
4. Legs & feet: Legs should be covÂered down to ankles. Feet can be bare and you can wear sanÂdals. Tight jeans are no problem.
Tip1: DurÂing winÂter, apart from covÂerÂing the head, the rest is the same as what you would wear in your home country.
Tip2: You betÂter enter Iran with a coat and a scarf and select your style by watchÂing the IranÂian women in the streets.
Tip 3: Once a chador is needed, like in holy places, it will be given upon entrance.
Tip 4: FolÂlowÂing the dress-code is necÂesÂsary form the time of on-boarding interÂnaÂtional flights. On IranÂian Flights, it is usuÂally requested when the plane enters the IranÂian boundaries.
