How do you become the cross country team captain?
I want to be the team captain for the cross country team in a couple years. How do I do that?
Our team votes on them...if not, be positive, be nice to the underclassmen, be an example.
Don't bitch about workouts, you can complain a little at times, but don't bring everyone down with you.
Be nice and friendly to people. Offer to take people home if they need it, ask them how they're doing.
Get on the coach's good side. Show him/her that you can lead and would be a good one.
Take charge when you can (but don't push the seniors aside right now). Lead a group if you can and since you're a vet, point out important things on courses to your teammates.
Be a team player, not just in it for you. Your team is most important, so put them first and always encourage them not to walk and just get better.
