Is platinum really worth the price or is white gold ok?
When I have the two rings in my hand the only diffrence is the weight. Is platinum really worth almost double the price?
My Fiance' (hopefully) is a full time student/retired army so she dosnt use her hand much.
So is white gold ok?
You can get a white gold band and a lifetime warranty for much cheaper than platinum, while it does not look, feel, or sound "cheap." It does not have to be re-dipped every year, most people get it done every 5-8 years. Some never do. (I've had mine for over a year, and no fading. Even if I want to get it dipped, that is covered in my zales lifetime warranty and is totally free.)
If you can afford it, of course platinum is better. That's why it's more expensive. But I told my hubby I would rather have a larger diamond and a white gold band, than a smaller diamond and a platinum band. If you are on a budget, that might be a good solution for you. If money is no object, then go with platinum!
Of course, your future fiance will be a much better source of info than us, so if you are on a budget find out which is more important to her- diamond size or metal quality. Honestly, most women who know their guy is on a tight budget don't even consider platinum, they EXPECT gold. Not all, but most that I have known.
