Do you own the book "Elliott Smith and the Big Nothing"?
In the index there's a heading called "eating problems". Could some nice stranger fill me in on what's mentioned about them? 
It would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I do, and I have the book right here, so let's see.
"Eating problems" are mentioned on pages 175-176 and 192-193.
On 175-76, the book talks about Elliott's eating habits during the recording of FROM A BASEMENT ON THE HILL and describes how they were really very poor and that Elliott didn't really ever like to eat, as the book puts it, "real food", that he wouldn't really eat anything but ice cream.
On 192-93, the book discusses Elliott eating habits after coming out of the Neurotransmitter Restoration Center, and it says more of the same: Elliott never really wanted to eat, and he didn't like eating. According to the book, "he wouldn't eat a lot or drink a lot."
So that's pretty much it; the sections discussing his eating problems aren't very large.
