Q: What is your demo submission policy?

A: Orphan records is currently accepting demos from singer/songwriters, indie and/or pop bands. If you think Orphan Records would be a good home for your music, please send us a link to your website/myspace as well as 1-2 short YouTube clips of your best live performances. Please do NOT email us mp3’s. If our ears are intrigued, we will request a physical demo. If we do not contact you, we were not intrigued...but some other label might be, so don’t lose heart!

Send all submissions to zoey[at]orphanrecords[dot]org. Please put "ARTIST SUBMISSION" in the subject heading so we can keep our messages organized. Thx :)

Q: Do you accept all genres?

A: Our tastes are diverse, however we are not particularly into funk/rap/metal/bar rock. Here's a list of music we've been listening to at the office just to give you an idea of our sensibilities:

Q: Does Orphan Records have an amazing internship program?

A: Why yes! We have a limited number of internships for industrious college students who are looking for an interesting, hands-on experience in the music industry. You must receive college credit for your labors and live in LA. You should be congenial, dependable, a good writer and not at all socially awkward around computers. Q: How do I obtain a promotional copy of your artist’s release for my publication/zine/blog/school newspaper?

A: Send writing samples to press@orphanrecords.org and a physical mailing address. We’ll send promotional materials if it seems like a good fit.

Q: I am a dj at a radiostation. How do I obtain a promotional copy for my radio show?

A: Please send an email to radio@orphanrecords.org. Please doublecheck with your music director to make sure your station does not already have a copy. Thanks for your interest!
