I was laid off 4 months ago, I have become a little reclusive. What is wrong with me?
I am on unemployment and doing OK. My husbands job is fine. This is the first time in 25 years that I am not working. I feel like I should be thrilled but instead everything is an effort. I do not feel depressed but do think that I am in a "funk". I do have some things that I enjoy but I really have to mentally psych myself to do them. I am not sure if I feel guilty to be home now or remorse that I was not always there for my children when they were younger because I now have the time to make dinner and do things with them. Help!!
You are just in a slump right now. Happens to everyone. For 25 years, you have been doing the same thing every day and now, your daily schedule have been interrupted. It's hard, but some times it can make you feel lost or out of place.
You might do need sometime to let everything that has happened sink in a little longer since it has been over 25 years of working. But keep job searching and keep yourself busy by making a list of all the things you have always wanted to do, but never got around to doing it. After finishing off a few things on your list, it can kind of give you a kick start. So good luck.
