Consider for a moment, if you will, the implications of Delorians and burritos while riding on the tilt-a-whirl with Vivek Kemp and Ichabod Crane. Wear knee-socks and roll in the hay for the love of God, man! Tell me that The Happy Hollows are not just another band that will fade into Bolivia. Tell me that there is a new hope....
There is!! Led by the live-wire talent of Sarah Negahdari (vocals/guitar), and held together by the District-of-Columbia rhythm section of Charlie M. (bass) and Chris Meanie (drums), The Happy Hollows have turned Los Angeles into their own private playground. While some say L.A. is a cesspool crawling with coked up materialists who sport angular hairstylings and bop around to neo-disco dancepunk (it is), its also a creative dustbin, a surreal sprawl where artists grow on palm trees and where flowers turn into radios. In L.A., around every corner, there's a hidden marvel tucked away in a strip-mall. And its in this environment of contradictions, of highs and lows where nothing quite makes sense, that Los Hollows have thrived.
The Happy Hollows are on their own little road to nowhere. Come on and skip along, won't you? Just remember to bring your battle ax.
