What Nine Inch Nails album is best?
I'm going to see nine inch nails in the summer. For some reason, i've never gotten around to listening to much of their stuff. What is a good album to get me started?
Depends on who you ask, but most NIN fans agree that the best album is either "Pretty Hate Machine" or "The Downward Spiral." They're both really solid from beginning to end, but very different from each other. Here's a brief summarization of their albums...
Pretty Hate Machine - Late 80's electronic sounds meets hard rock.
Broken - Very aggressive guitar-driven music.
The Downward Spiral - A very gothic industrial album, and their crowning achievement.
The Fragile - A double album, sort of a softer side of Downward Spiral.
With Teeth - Dark mid-tempo music not unlike The Fragile.
Year Zero - Very experimental and heavily electronic.
The Slip - Very similar to Year Zero.
Ghosts I-IV - Double album worth of spacey, instrumental music.
