A story about having to decide between two really sexy men and not being able to make a choice, especially when being jet-lagged after a long flight, could make 'Lost'. The famous fantasy TV series about a magic island where time moves back and forth and Kate tries to decide between Jack and Sawyer.
A painting of Picasso or other similar artists of the same school can be characterised as 'surreal' because of the disproportionate bodies and faces they draw. But I have met quite a few people whose faces and bodies have these exact proportions and features, so to me Picasso and Dali's painting is as realistic as it can get. Portraying the not so fortunate, but still real people.
A surreal sense of humour is when you make jokes and comments that belong in the dreamlike world. Or what I call, my grandpa. His answer when you ask him how he's doing is always 'I was better before Alyssa Milano dumped me'. A somewhat surreal answer to many people, but to my grandpa a phrase that so much better describes the content of the boring and pessimistic 'I've been better'.
