Hawaii has four main islands, the island of Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. All of those islands have both good as well as bad sides, but if you are someone who is looking for a beach which is unspoiled and uncrowded and can provide you with brilliant opportunities when it comes to snorkeling and surfing, then Kauai beaches are the ones you are looking for.
Among all the other islands, Kauai is one which is the most underdeveloped. It has two main volcanic peaks which slope steeply down onto the sandy beaches which provide you with a perfect view of the ocean. The wettest spot on the earth is found in Mount Waialeale which is also found in the deep green jungle of Kauai. All the Kauai beaches have backdrops of mountains and also jungles. You will find a jungle in every shade of green on this island and you will be able to hike to secret waterfalls or cascades or to Kauai secret beaches.
But then there are a lot of people who visit Kauai only for their warm and sunny beaches. Kauai like the rest of the Hawaiian islands has four divisions, the North Shore, South Shore, windward side and leeward side. The windward shore has Lihue which is the dominating area. This area is also home to the best beach in Kauai which is Kalapaki. Swimming in this Kauai beach is very safe since its waters are protected by a jetty.
Another secret beach which is found in Kauai is at the base of a cliff which is found just around north of a place called Kilaua. This is the beach which is completely secret and people barely know about it and its off the usual road which is the main reason why it's a secret. But you need to work quite a bit if you want to get here. You have to hike down a trail which is quite rocky and it has a lot of winding paths which goes through different gullies, brushes and trees. Also keep in mind that you have to hike back up the same trail. So exploring Kauai secret beaches isn't really a walk in the park.
Continuing with the beach you will find that as your trail comes to the very last sharp plunge a magnificent stretch of sand will be present for you with the shinning sea which is turquoise. If you plan on visiting this beach on rainy days then you will find that it is going to be covered with the help of a lagoon and there will be a stream which is going to wind down to the behind of this beach. At night you will be able to see the Kilauea lighthouse from the beach. But you also need to know that swimming out here can be quite risky since the currents are quite strong and also very unpredictable. So even surfing should be avoided on this beach. So the best thing to do would be to walk on the beach, collect shells and relax.
