People who live in Louisiana and who love Mardi Gras do have lives....thats what makes Mardi Gras so much fun; we get to take a break from our everday life and enjoy spending time with friends and family, dancing and being loud.
Aside from the huge parades in The French Quarter, parades are like big block parties. Maybe you could take the stick out of your butt and come down and enjoy a few of them. Our state would love to have you, as we welcome anyone and everyone down to experience Carnival with us.
And its not just us who love Carnival time, each year I find myself standing next to someone from a different state of the country, from all over the country, trying to catch some beads and have a good time!
So obviously your thinking of us '"illiterates" getting drunk and catching beads because we have no lives' has absolutely no merit when people from all walks of life are proud to celebrate with us!
