i have combo skin and ive been using this thinking it would help my light acne and shrink my pores.... ive started to notice my skin is breaking out a bit... is it purging the impurities or is it doing something else?
The mask is the equivalent of going and getting a facial in a way. When you put it on, it's drawing all the impurities out of your pores and skin. Sometimes it only starts to bring all the "stuffing" in your pores toward the surface, but doesn't quite manage to completely draw it out. Steaming your face helps to loosen the "stuffing" up even more and come out the rest of the way.
The reason why you're breaking out is because the mask is breaking up the "stuffing" that's clogging your pores, which results in minor break-outs. To help reduce break outs, stay away from chemically created face washes. They tend to have loads of drying components in them, such as alcohol, which dries out the skin. This triggers your oil glands to start producing more oil, which can clog your pores up again.
