I got a memphis 0ga kit and it comes with a single rca 2 on each side & a pair 4 on each side. I have an alpine deck which has 2 rca outputs, now my question is do i need all of the rca cables and how do i hook them up to each amp?
First there are two ways to do this. I can send you a diagram of both . But I will try to answer you here. First : If your alpine only has 1 set of rca outs do this. Get 2 sets of rca Y adapters With 1 male 2 female plug the 2 males in the rca jacks in the back of the alpine . One jack will be red the other will be white .Now use the 4 on each side to go to the 4 channel amp make sure that you keep all the the two reds together for the right side an the two whites for the left. Now put one white in channel 1 , put a red in channel 2 now use your second set of Y adapters on channels 3 an 4. Channel 3 gets red ,channel 4 gets white. Now use the second set of rcas white to white red to red. to your Mono amp. Important note run your rca cables on opposite sides of your car it keeps the engine noise out. The other way is to use a small passive equalizer with a bass control. This one would be a little easier . Kenwood makes a great little 5 band with sub control it about the size of a pack of cigarettes. I thing the model is KAC 4042. in stores for $150 but seen on ebay for about $100. The wiring is pretty simple Small 3 foot rca cord with 2 on each end one end go's to the radio the other to input eq. Then use the rca with 4 Two to front Two to rear . Then use the single rca with 2 one end to sub out on eq the other to your mono amp. I hope this helps you . I can send a diagram if you need. no problem.
