The Psychic Circle is a board similar to the Ouija Board created by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber. Included in the box are the 18 by 18 inch board, a small round plastic planchette and a 29 page book explaining how to use the Psychic Circle and the symbols drawn onto the board. The planchette is three inches in diameter and made of a hard plastic. The area in the middle used to view the letters is an inch and a half in diameter, leaving enough for two to five people to use the board comfortably. The board has the following letters, numbers, and other symbols designed onto it:
The letters A through Z, the numbers zero through nine, all twelve astrological signs, the colors red, orange, yellow, gray, blue, white, brown, green, black, pink, and purple, all 9 planets, the north, east, south, and west nodes, the words STOP, OLD, GOODBYE, WAIT, NEW, FAR, LOOK, LISTEN, OPEN, YOU, HELLO, GO, OTHER, YES, TAKE, MAYBE, GIVE, NO, and CLOSE, and the four elements, water, earth, air and fire. There are also nine pictures which can have different meanings depending on the session.
Having so many possible answers on the board allows users to ask a broad array of questions, and to provide more types of answers. The downfall is that it can be confusing having so many symbols. However, having the book included eliminates this negative factor. Not only does the book cover the basic outline of how to use the board and open a session, it explains the meanings of every symbol, color and number on the board. By having the book next to the board, users can easily flip to the meaning in the book, rather than having to look up the symbol elsewhere afterwards.
The only negative I have with this board is that is folded four times, forming a nine inch square. When the Psychic Circle is flat on a table and being used, there is a large crease in the middle, which does not affect the planchette moving smoothly. However, I was worried about the sturdiness over time when I first saw the board. After examination, the board feels to have been manufactured well and is sturdy.
The major differences between traditional spirit boards and the Psychic Circle are the amount of symbols on the Psychic Circle, and what I believe to be the intended use of the Psychic Circle. What I feel this board was meant to be used as is a way to contact spirit guides and guardian angels to look for advice and guidance. It can be used as a traditional spirit board, however, I believe it is meant to contact spirit guides.
I will rate this board a 4 out of 5 stars. The included book explains the board clearly, and makes it easy to use. If you are looking for a board with more flexibility than the Ouija Board, I would highly recommend The Psychic Circle.
