Celebrating the addition of a new family member is a great reason to send out photo birth announcements. These are a great alternative to traditional birth announcements because they offer not only the wonderful news of the child's arrival but a photo or picture showing how adorable and precious the new arrival is. Before you begin sending the baby birth announcements, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Baby Birth Announcements: Etiquette Tips
First, you should know that birth announcement should be sent no later than four months after the arrival of your precious lil one, preferably much sooner. If you wait too long, most of the recipients will have already seen your baby in person that defeats the purpose of the personalized baby announcements.
Of course you may not feel like preparing the photo baby birth announcements immediately. Do some work in advance, such as picking out the announcements you want to use, entering all of the information you know and creating a recipient list. Once the little one is born, you can always enlist the help of some friends or family members to help you put everything else together.
Second, you need to know who should receive photo baby announcements. You don't have to send them to everyone you know. Choose only the people who would be the happiest about the news or who would want to see an early picture or photo of the new arrival. That usually limits the list to family members, old friends of the family and maybe some acquaintances from your church or job.
Finally, with baby birth announcements you need to include some specific information. One piece of information that must be included is the child's full name. That means you can't start sending out announcements until you've chosen a name for the him or her. You'll also want to include details about the newborn, such as the exact time and location of the delivery and the infant's size and weight at birth. The last information you want to include is the name of the parents, as well as the names of the child's siblings.
Most people also include some type of verses or sayings that is either personalized on the announcement cards or is written specifically for these announcements.
Tips for Baby Photo Birth Announcements
To have good photo cards, you'll need to start with a good baby photo. The hospital may offer to take pictures of your newborn child which may be nice to have but you will probably end up paying too much and not being able to use them as you'd like. Instead, wait until the bundle of joy comes home. Place him or her in a sitting position. You could use a car seat or carrier if you want. Some parents prefer just to have the child sitting on their laps. Snap as many pictures as possible using a digital camera then select the best photo to use with your photo birth announcements.
