It all sounds exactly the same.
What happened?
What happened to good hard rock?
What happened to ska?
What happened to Punk, and i dont mean pop punk?
What happened to funk rock?
Jam bands?
Psych?
Blues rock (thank God for Black Keys)?
It seems like its all being replaced by double bass pedals, screamers, and emo-ish lyrics with overdriven metal-ish guitar.
Its so hard to listen to. Ive tried everything from Bring Me The Horizon, to Norma Jean, to Underoath. None of it appeals to me at all.v It all just sounds the same.
Im just pissed cause it seems like no new bands other than hardcore bands (and pop punk bleh) are being newly signed.
My only hope was wolfmother, and because Stockdale is a jerk, they are no more.
My biggest peeve is it seems like no NEW BANDS in any genre other than Hardcore/Metalcore is getting any steam.
fuck emo bands. but some metalcore is ok, not too much tho. ska is still strong, you should check out reel big fish and goldfinger. for true punk, look to pennywise. good hard rock, look to papa roach and metallica. funk rock is not too popular at all nowadays. and underoath is awesome, you should check em out a little more in depth.
