How do you say "save the last dance" in sign language?
Just wondering, is it just 'save', 'last', and 'dance' together or is there something in between to connect them? So far I've got save as a sort of peace sign on your fist, last as a kind of pinky swipe, and dance and the little dancing over your palm, anything else?
Are you looking for American Sign Language, or are you looking to keep the signs in English order? What's your goal? Who is your audience?
As the one poster stated, the "peace sign on your fist" really is for saving something...you don't really save a dance, like they said you hold it.
As the other poster said, you could use "promise" to show the concept of save, but it really wouldn't be needed. Facial expressions could convey the meaning of "save". (AGAIN, this is if you want things in ASL)
To TJ or JT, (another poster) ASL is NOT universal. I'm not sure where you got that information from. As you stated, BSL (British Signed Language) is VERY different. ASL is closest related to French Sign Language. Just as with spoken languages, signed languages develop and evolve over time in specific areas. There is no universal language, spoken nor signed. (Some may want to bring up Gestuno, but that's a flop)
