In your opinion, which is the darkest of the Bach Sonatas/Partitas?

I don't like thinking in terms of "darkness" when it comes to Bach's music, especially the Sonatas and Partitas for violin. They're each so beautiful and captivating that I can't think of them as dark. Certainly there was somber music in Bach's day, but I don't really think this concept of "dark" music that we think of today really existed then.
The epic Ciaconna from the Partita No. 2 in D minor might qualify.That movement features, though, one of the most glorious major-key passages for solo violin I've ever heard, so it's not entirely "dark." You might try the first movement of the Sonata No. 1 in G minor as well. To me, that seems to be the "darkest" among the Sonatas and Partitas.

Throughout it, he plays around with the theme "Dies Irae," and it certainly makes for a piece that could really be classified as dark - much more so than the Bach Sonatas and Partitas.
