The Kicker CVR 12 is a subwoofer. We should start by explaining exactly what a subwoofer does. A subwoofer is a loudspeaker that is designed to reproduce very low bass frequencies. They are generally between 8 to 21 inches in diameter and they are also referred to as a sub. If you buy a sub on it's own it is called unmounted and if you buy a sub which is already in an enclosure then this is called mounted. So, When you are looking to buy a sub for your car you need to decide whether to buy mounted or unmounted.
