Ok for the people that has halo3 and seen the last gutscene after the credits when you past it on legendary.The chief in cortana are alone and heading to a unknown planet (i think is a forunner planet built by the forunners to shield themselfs from the halos blast to kill the flood) ok past to the point, i read some where that A.I.s in the halo universe only have a 7 year life time. Cortana was made before 2550 and last i check it is 2553 after the war on earth.so the chief only has 4 years to get found before cortana shuts down. but you know what i think, cortana changed after she came out of the first halo in the first game, knowning alot of new information, maybe she finds a way to make herself last longer.

If you read the books, yes, it does say smart A.I.'s have only 7 years to live, but also remember that Cortana is carrying around MUCH more data then the normal A.I,, also stated in the book. Sadly, this means she has only perhaps 1 or 2 more years to "live", unless of course she can go into some "hibernation" mode.
