AC/DC are a rock band. They come from Australia and were created in 1973. Their creators are Malcolm and Angus Young, two brothers.
The band members are Brian Johnson (responsible for lead vocals), Angus Young (in charge of lead guitar), Malcolm Young (responsible for rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Cliff Williams (in charge of bass guitar, backing vocals) and Phil Rudd (responsible for drums and percussion).
Their music is said to belong to the heavy metal and hard rock styles, but they are used to classify their music as rock and roll. In 2009 the rock band AC/DC was nominated four times for their album called "Black Ice" (the album was released in 2008).
Those nominations contained the best rock album, highest selling album, best group and best album (they are the Australian recording industry association's music awards nominations). In general, during the years of their career the AC/DC have been nominated thirteen times and they have been awarded three times (two of those three are the Australian recording industry association's music awards and one is the Grammy award).
