For all the New Age spiritual "gurus" out there ... do you really want to stand before God someday and tell Him you are the Creator? And when you speak disparagingly about Christians for believing things "by faith" ... do you have the smallest shred of evidence that you have unlimited power and can effect the universe simply by the power of your thoughts? Talk about stretching the imagination.
Faith vs. What?
Those who ridicule Christians for believing the Bible, and claim to base their beliefs on scientific observation have some explaining to do. For example: in the Biblical account of creation it says God told each plant, animal & man to reproduce "after it's kind." Using my powers of observation all I've ever seen is life reproducing "after it's kind".
"Enlightened" scientists on the other hand tell me that man evolved from apes, and is continuing to evolve, all the way to godhood. And where is the scientific observation? It doesn't exist. And never has. The only observable 'evolution' has been within a species. Never from one species to another.
In the book The Secret, the head of the physics department at the Maharishi University, Dr. John Hagelin, says the following, "Ultimately we are the source of the Universe, and when we understand that power directly by experience, we can start to exercise our authority and achieve more and more. Create anything. Know anything from within the field of our own consciousness, which ultimately is Universal consciousness which runs the Universe". Oh, good. Glad we cleared that up.
Say what? Please explain, what this 'Universal Consciousness' is? Please show it to me. And why are we so unconscious of this consciousness? Especially if it's so Universal? This 'Universal Consciousness' has been bandied about for so long it's getting away with some rather audacious claims, wouldn't you say?
Now believing that is a leap of 'faith' if there ever was one. Where, pray tell, is the evidence?
What's the Difference?
One time while watching the O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, I heard a creationist and an evolutionist going at it, debating each other on their beliefs.
The evolutionist was telling the creationist that it was intellectually dishonest for him to suggest that God never had a beginning. The creationist said simply that God "always was." The evolutionist said that claim was absurd, and it proved the Bible was a book of fantasies kept going by blind, deluded followers.
So the creationist wanted to know how the evolutionist explained our beginnings. The evolutionist said that all life came from inanimate matter. But where did the matter come from? Can you guess what he said? He said "it always was"! And he said it with a straight face. Can you believe it?
So what's the difference? One says that God always was, the other says that matter always was.
Please tell me. Based simply on your own life experience, which of the two seems more believable? That life somehow began somewhere back eons and eons ago when rocks suddenly "woke up" one day? Or that Life begat life? Which is more believable, that the intricate complexity we observe throughout the universe just randomly assembled itself together from chaos - because it had enough time? Or that an Intelligence is behind it?
Using the scientific method, of testing by observation, which do we observe in day to day life ... rocks "waking up" and becoming complex, living, breathing, conscious creators and problem solvers? Or an intelligence behind it whenever we see complexity and design. I wonder who is truly deluded?

Instead, he or she comes from the congregation, or, 'laity') His purpose in life is to lift up Christ as man's only hope, and to spread the message of Jesus's soon return.
