Wish You Were
Do you have a strong desire to change your life, do you wish sometimes you were not where you are at now? Do you sometimes wonder "what would it take for me to be able to..."?
Is it only wishful thinking? Sometimes we are so depressed that everything seems to be disproportionate. Every little effort seems to be so big that all we seem to be able to do is cry and complain. We all, however, have limits. When we are ready we set out to change we select an idea which at first sight seems right.
But if you really want to change you have to make sure that your goal is the perfect goal for you, and you might want to ask yourself these questions:
1. Am I unhappy in my situation now and if so, why. Is your desire for a radical change the reflect of your unhappiness, you wishing you were somewhere else?
Before you take any decision you will have to clean up the clutter in your mind. Don't hesitate to make a list of things you are happy about and not happy about. See what you can change right now, things you can change in the near future and things that will have to be changed with more effort. But whatever you think make sure that you are honest with yourself, otherwise you will have done all this for nothing.Do not hide your unhappiness behind a smokescreen.
2. Have you evaluated your gains/losses?
Are you going to have to give up some things in order for you to make room for the new? Are you ready to do it? Is your goal going to bring you more satisfaction and compensate for what you are going to loose? Are you prepared to get rid of the old to make room for the new?
3. Can you imagine yourself walking the path to success?
Try and visualize you making all the efforts necessary to achieve your goal. How does it feel? Make sure that this goal is going to give you the enthusiasm necessary to go all the way. If you are a person who changes his mind very often then allow yourself the extra time to really make sure that this time you are going to make it.
4. Can you imagine yourself as the successful person you have become?
Put yourself into the skin of your new successful self. Imagine a whole day of your ideal life. How does it feel? Is it going to feel right in the long run?
Have you done your exercise, asked yourself the right questions, are you sure this is what you want?
Then go ahead and to your success!
