If you are expecting a seven year tribulation period with Anti-Christ ruling the earth from Rome at some point in our future, allow me to share some important information with you. Did you know that this teaching was invented around 1830 by Edward Irving, and perpetuated by John Darby? Look it up for yourself. That is why you cannot find it in the Bible, and you'll notice the prophecy teachers have to pluck half verses from all over the Bible to try to support their un-biblical theory.
Do you realize they teach there will be a rapture of believers seven years before He comes, and another rapture of converted during the tribulation believers when He comes?
They teach there will be the marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven for the seven years the world is going through tribulation, but the book of Revelation places the Marriage Supper "after" He comes, right here on earth!
They teach the heavens and elements melting and dissolving with fervent heat when He comes, but they also teach the heavens and earth will be destroyed by fire again 1,000 years "after" He comes!
They teach an army will come against Israel around the time of His coming, and they teach another army comes against Israel again about 1,000 years later!
They teach there will be a Judgment Day when He comes, and they also expect another Judgment Day about 1,000 years later!
They teach that animal sacrifices will be re-instituted in the 1,000 years following His return. I thought Jesus WAS the final sacrifice!
To try to support a seven year tribulation period they use half of a sentence from a Messianic prophecy and say it is not about Messiah any more, but it is only talking about Anti-Christ about 2,000 years away from the time frame of the prophecy! (Dan. 9:27) No kidding!
Look up the meaning of the word, "apanteo or apantesis." It is what was translated into the word "meet" the Lord in the air. This is so relevant pertaining to when we rise to meet Him in the air, you will never hear the prophecy teachers talk about this!
If you have friends who believe this dispensationalism, here are a few questions that will make them red in the face!
If nobody knows when Jesus will come back and then all believers are raptured out for seven years; won't that give the remaining "non-believers" the luxury of counting seven years and knowing "exactly" when the Lord will return?
If all believers are raptured out for seven years, who will the Anti-Christ have left to persecute?
Can you show me a verse that says anybody will have seven more years to repent and get their life right "after" He comes? How about any verse that speaks of second chances with spiritual matters?
If Revelation Chapter 20 is the only place in the Bible to mention this 1,000 year period, did you notice the mark of the beast is taken or not taken in this time period? It also ends with a universal judgment of all. Does that mean we will have to deal with the mark of the beast soon, and then again in the 1,000 years to follow?
There is always the words from the Lord Himself, in at least a dozen verses in the Gospels. He said "when" He comes, His angels will separate the good and bad fish, the sheep and goats, the wheat and the tares...for judgment AT His coming!
